Yin Yin's shadow plans several stretches of history, particularly showing some notebooks with drawings of the boy. They are early 40's, during the Second World War, and Yin Yin outlines guns and airplanes.
But following the pattern of its title, the film is a portrait of the relationship between these two women separated by 31 years apart. Doris often shows great insecurity and was heard saying: "I love you from the depths of my being .... But I have a very large wound, because you have no confidence in me." At other times there is fun and Doris says, "I'll never forget last night was so funny." Then, the writer asks her sweet tone: "You're a rogue."
Two years before the death of Mistral in 1955, the relationship is stronger than ever and so is evident in a conversation which Dana says "take seven years." "Seven years we now? Lie, "replied Mistral. "Seven little, from 48," she recalls with undisguised affection Dana.
